5th July is the date for the diary for Bosleys next public auction, consignments are arriving and to date we have received a good collection of RAF items, these include an immediate award of the Distinguished Flying Medal to a Wellington Pilot. His aircraft was hit over the target disabling his port engine, he managed to limp home, crossing the enemy cost to make the perilous flight across the North Sea at 1,000 feet all the time losing height he managed to get to his home airfield flying at 100 Feet. The collection also includes a number of WW2 aircrew logbooks, including a Luftwaffe example. Badge collectors will be pleased to know a steady flow includes a magnificent and impressive Bell Top Shako Plate of the Tower Hamlets Rifles and a Bell Top shako plate to the 17th Foot. This is complemented by an Albert Plate and fine quality Shoulder Belt plate all to the 17th. German collectors will once again have a good selection of Third Reich Daggers to choose from with two collections consigned. Special Forces collectors will have the opportunity to bid on a rare original Long Range Desert Group Cap Badge and a field made attributed Special Forces Dagger Cap Badge attributed to a SOE Force 133 Operative.  See Bosleys News for an update on a fine collection of Naval General Service Medals consigned.
