Aviation Collectables continue to Land at Bosleys for the 4th Annual Specialist Aviation Collectors Sale.

In conjunction with our sister company Marlows of Stafford, we will be once again be holding this popular specialist sale on the 13th September 2018. This year marks the RAF 100 celebrations and the early Flyers including those of the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service will have a strong showing, consignments include two RFC Maternity jackets worn by an Observer, this complemented by his RAF 1st pattern khaki tunic and rare RAF 1st pattern cap, this example retaining the early feature of gilt rank bars flanking the cap badge. A number of WW1 log books, include a rare Pilot’s RNAS, 1920’s RAF grouping, originally flying seaplane patrols in 1918 he later, in 1920 was posted to the Royal Navy Aircraft Carrier Ark Royal and saw operations in support of the white Russians in South Russia, included are a number of rare original Observer Reports giving details of troop movements. Another 1918 RAF grouping includes log, books, photographs, medals, and a superb propellor boss clock from the observer’s crashed Armstrong Whitworth FK 8 reconnaissance aircraft. The face skilfully engraved with a picture of the doomed aircraft and amongst the photographs a clear image of the actual aircraft with pilot and Observer. Badges consigned chart the history of the RAF and also to be found a rare set of 2nd pattern circa 1920’s Canadian Air Force Officer’s badges. Aviation medals include a fine WW2 Bomber Command DFC group, an emotive Far East Hurricane pilots casualty group, killed on his first operation his fighter aircraft seen to crash in dense jungle, his body never recovered. The Second World War campaign of the Eastern Front will find a gallantry group to a Russian Fighter Ace. Other items consigned include uniforms, flying clothing, 1939 scramble bell and aircraft parts. More details to follow.
