As a subscriber you will receive a profusely illustrated catalogue which will arrive several weeks before a sale giving you ample opportunity to read and consider. The sales includes a good selection of cloth formation signs, many of which are illustrated and can include those worn by units in the Great War, WW2, Special Forces,etc. including many rarities. These catalogues are now considered by most collectors as a standard reference, many of the badges illustrated have previously not been found in published works. Bidding is conducted by post and internet, or you can sit in the comfort of your favourite chair and bid live through the online live bidding platform Bosleys have introduced. You will hear the auctioneer selling the lots as though in the room, enabling you to adjust your bidding strategy as the sale progresses The sale operates in the standard way with bids increasing in standard increments. Upon receipt of payment your items will be dispatched by our speedy postal service.
Bosleys buyers premium is 20% on the hammer price; VAT is chargeable on the premium only, not on the hammer price; ie the total cost of a lot which hammers for £40 is £49.60.
With the vast field covered by military badges and insignia and the difficulty of identifying and valuing obscure examples, many collectors choose Bosleys to dispose of surplus items and collections. Bosleys have probably the largest military reference library held by any saleroom and offers a free research service for items once they have been consigned to auction. Bosleys selling commission is 20% (plus VAT) on the hammer price. An insurance fee of only £1 per £100 (min £10 per sale) auction will cover your entire consignment from the moment it arrives to the fall of the hammer on saleday. Unlike many other rooms there are no hidden charges. Bosleys do not charge you a lotting fee, a photography fee, an unsold fee, a research fee nor is there a minimum fee per lot. Accounts are settled promptly 14 working days after a sale assuming purchasers accounts are cleared by that day. A complimentary catalogue is supplied to non-subscribing vendors.
